How to: Send a file to another computer.
Solution:
Select 'Hyperterminal' in 'Accessories' and double-click the 'Hypertrm' icon. Type the connection name and the phone number, click 'OK', and click 'Dial'. Select the 'Transfer' menu and select 'Send Text File' or 'Send File'. Select the desired protocol.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Programs'.
3) Select 'Accessories' and select 'HyperTerminal'.

4) Double-click the 'HyperTrm' icon.
NOTE: Depending on the Windows 95 setup, the 'Hypertrm' icon may be renamed 'Hypertrm.exe'.
5) In the 'Connection Description' dialog box, type the name of the desired connection and click 'OK'. (The 'Phone Number' dialog box appears.)
6) In the 'Phone Number' dialog box, do one or more of the following:
a) Select the country which you are calling from in the 'Country code' drop-down list.
b) Type the area code of the phone number you are dialing in the 'Area Code' box.
c) Type the appropriate phone number in the 'Phone Number' box.
7) Click 'OK'.
8) Click 'Dial' to dial the number.
9) Do one of the following:
a) To send a text file:
1] Select the 'Transfer' menu and select 'Send Text File...'. (The 'Send Text File' dialog box appears.)
2] In the 'Look in' drop-down list, select the desired drive to browse.
3] Select the appropriate folder and click 'Open'.
4] Select the desired text file and click 'Open'. (The file is transferred.)
b) To send a non-text file:
1] Select the 'Transfer' menu and select 'Send File...'. (The 'Send File' dialog box appears.)
2] Do one of the following:
a] Type the filename and path in the 'Filename' box.
b] Browse for the file:
1} Click 'Browse...'. (The 'Select File to Send' dialog box appears.)
2} In the 'Look in' drop-down list, select the desired drive to browse.
3} Select the appropriate folder and click 'Open'.
4} Select the desired file and click 'Open'.
c] Select the desired protocol from the 'Protocol' drop-down list.
NOTE 1: The protocol used between the sending and receiving machines must be the same. The available protocols include '1Kmodem', 'Xmodem', 'Ymodem', 'Ymodem-G', 'Zmodem', and 'Kermit'.
NOTE 2: Contact the administrator of the computer you are trying to connect to for the proper protocol setting.
d] Click 'Send'. (The file is sent.)
